My Mary Kay unit is working to make sure that EVERYONE is remembered this holiday season! We have chosen the Marbridge Nursing Home here in South Austin for the “Adopt A Grandparent” program. We’ve put gifts together for either men or women , already gift wrapped and waiting to be delivered to the elderly there at the home ,which is one of the most forgotten groups of special people at the holidays! We even have gift tags to put your businesses name on or for you to write a special message on for each $20 gift they purchase, as well as a tax receipt for your donation. How many residents would you like to adopt? You could bless 10 for $200 or 20 for $400. To Make a donation, please call or email me at 512-632-6110 or amy.horowitz@marykay.com.
The gift will include these 2 items: Satin Hands lotion-

I have been out of pocket since last Thursday- we were in South Texas attending uncle TJ’s wedding. I really tried to stick to the diet portion since I wouldn’t be working out. (I knew there would be little sleep to be had). I did okay, but when I went to the gym this morning- I wasn’t feeling it. Our warm up was like its own workout…..3 rounds of 20 squat jumps, 10 situps, 20 bicycles and 10 pushups. As if that wasn’t enough….the regular workout was 3 rounds of 20 wall ball (lay on the ground and crunch up as you throw the ball), 10 push ups, 20 sqauat and throw the ball up, 10 push ups, 20 rotation balls, 10 push ups and 500 m row. OUCH. I honestly felt like I was going to throw up. Good news, I burned 300 calories!!!!!!!!! See you Thursday morning!
Drove to the gym after a GREAT night sleep and noticed no cars, so I came home and did my own thing. Did 3 rounds of 20 squats, sqat + twist, ad 20 cowboy jumps. I also sprinted to the stop sign and back a couple of times. Only burned 190 calories, but hey, this is day 4. Heading to Kingsville for a wedding. Taking workout clothes just in case….Have a great weekend.
So I had to DRAG myself out of bed this morning to get to the gym and once I got there I realized I had NO energy. I have been lacking sleep for the last 2 nights, Bill came home late last night from a BB game- I usually don’t sleep well if he is gone. I always try to wait for him. So needless to say, I am tired. Back to the gym, I was the only one there today. it was nice. We modified the workout to focus on my abs- so, we did wall balls, and rowed, and pair medicine ball work outs. OUCH. I am looking forward to a break tomorrow. I have a new set of exercises for me and bill to do together. Still down 6lbs……
So- yesterday and today were hard workouts for me. Yesterday was 10 sets of 10 situps (i used a kettle bell too), 10 ring rows, 10 kickbacks each arm, 10 squats. It was HARD. I usually work out in the morning, so doing this Monday night workout was super hard for me. This also didn’t give my body time to recover for my 7am Tuesday workout. Needless to say, on Monday night, I burned 319 calories and 231 this morning. I LOVE this stuff. I am also trying hard to stick to the ‘lo carb’ diet. No diet coke anymore. Tea for me please. Looking forward to Bill’s Bday weekend. I have a new dress that fits, but will look even better when I am down another 10 lbs……
I have officially lost 5 pounds! I did weigh without any clothes on, but hey, who is checking
. This week was a total killer I pretty much did 4 workouts as opposed to 3- I had to do a foundations class which doesn’t seem like much, but you do 3 of each exercises so I know how to do them. I was totally sore. I also did a workout last night- OUCH. Started with a standard warm up- jumping jacks, sit ups- I used a kettle bell, yoga, and more jumping jacks. From there, the real work out began…..3 rounds of 500m rows, 30 climbing man, each leg – 6 point lunge, 50 knee to elbow crunches, 10 push ups (ring rows for me). I usually try to do 4 rounds, but my body just couldn’t do it last night. It had been a long week. Stay tuned for more!!! Have a good 4th. WO Yesterday- 262 calories burned.
Today was a great workout…didn’t seem like much on the board, but it WAS! Cardio focused warm up then on to the wall ball on the gound- lay on your back with the ball above your head and hit the wall, x 20 then 15 squats with a press and finally arm stuff. I love these work outs. totally different! Burned 260 calories. Love it! I can see a huge difference in my face and around my waist. Love it love it!
